Partnership is at the heart of everything we do at the British Council, and has been since we were established in 1934. Our mission is to build trust and opportunity globally, and our goals can be achieved only by working with others.

Why partner with us?

By working in partnership with us, our organisations can enhance their impact, innovation or influence to help you achieve your goals.

We connect people worldwide with opportunities and build mutually beneficial relationships between the UK and other countries. Our work spans education, English, society and the arts. We are able to connect you to global networks of expertise in each of these areas.

How we support the Sustainable Development Goals

kok体育赛事The British Council contributes to the UK’s international development strategy, working with leading organisations and individuals around the world. We support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to make a positive contribution – across arts and culture, education, English language, sport, science and civil society – to 100+ countries.

The networks and contextual understanding we develop over many years of working in a country lead to much more sustainable outcomes for our programmes. We are confident that our approach – rooted in long-term trusted relationships – is beneficial in delivering the SDGs. And our ability to work at scale globally places us in a unique position to develop new thinking.

Success stories

The interconnected nature of the SDGs allows us, together with our partners, to contribute to positive outcomes in many different areas.

kok体育赛事However, we focus particularly on the SDGs where we believe our programmes make the most direct contribution. Our approach also aligns with SDG 17: global partnership. We believe in working with governments, donors, businesses and social enterprises to develop sustainable solutions to development challenges.
